3 Girls, 13.2 Miles, 1 Cause: Jason La Monaca has been fighting against Colon cancer. His friends created a fund-raising organization to support him. In one of their activities, they raised around $1.7K which were stolen from Jason's house.
LaMonaca, 38, was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago and just recently learned the chemotherapy regimen he had been receiving at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital was not effective and the disease had metastasized to his lungs. The day he got the news was the day a thief broke into his parents' home in Folcroft and stole, among other things, $1,700 of the money raised through the marathon. The thief has not been caught.
